Final Music Video

Developing Digipak and Magazine Advert

This is the process of drawing the main image that I will use for the Digipak and Magazine Advert. I started by sketching an outline of my face and then darkened one side. On the left side I decided to draw a skull design inspired by Evan Peters make up in American Horror Story Season 1. We chose to do half of the face a skull because of our narrative in our music video. I then darkened everything further and added in the hair.

MSMR Fantasy analysis of lyrics

Update

When we had our initial screening we realized that the song we had chosen wasn't the best fit for the research that we did. We did our research on the indie genre but "The Mother We Share" was more in the electronic pop genre than indie. The feedback that we received for our music video had a lot of misunderstanding about the narrative. We tried to come up with narrative that would make sense with the lyrics but in the end we decided to change our song. However, we had a lot of positive feedback for the performance. A lot of people really like the projection of the galaxy so we wanted to include it in our new song. This is why we chose "Fantasy" by MSMR because it was in the indie pop genre so it related more to what we researched and we could still use the galaxy projection for the performance scenes.

First we came up with ideas for narrative:

Then I redid the mood board and a costume inspiration for Beth:
